What is OCR?

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a technology that allows you to convert different types of documents, such as scanned paper documents, PDF files, or images captured by a digital camera, into editable and searchable data.

Safe & Private

Your documents are processed locally in your browser. Unlike other tools, we never upload your images to any server, making this the safest way to extract text from sensitive documents.

FAQ

What languages are supported?
This version is optimized for English. Tesseract.js supports over 100 languages, which can be enabled for more advanced versions of the tool.
Why is it taking time to load?
The first time you use the tool, it downloads the OCR training data (about 10-15MB) to your browser's cache so it can work offline in the future.
Is the text 100% accurate?
Accuracy depends on the image quality. Clear, high-resolution images with good lighting provide the best results. Handwritten text may have lower accuracy.
